Tagged! (again)
I’ve been tagged again.
This iteration is “6 Weird Things About Yourself”
Believe it or not, I had a hard time coming up with them.
Well, actually, a had a terrible time coming up with the first one and then it was as if I had pulled my finger out of the proverbial dike…I ended up with many more than six.
Which was what I expected, since I’m pretty weird.
Here are the six that I wouldn’t mind having broadcast across the worldwide web (I’ll try and be brief this time):
1. I can’t stand unbalanced lighting in a room. If I walk in a room, and there’s only one light on, I am compelled to turn on an adjacent one to balance it out. I feel real emotional discomfort in rooms with low and/or unbalanced lighting; I often have a hard time sitting still or getting comfortable in rooms that have one glaring light in one corner, and dim light (or none at all) in the other.
2. I have congenital cataracts that you can see with the naked eye. (Pardon the pun.) It just looks like a white dot in the center of each pupil. One is easier to see than the other. They don’t affect my vision (supposedly) and won’t get any bigger (supposedly). I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. (Another pun. Sorry.)
3. I had cosmetic surgery on my ears when I was 13. My ears stuck straight out and my parents were very supportive of (read: encouraged) me having my ears “pinned back.” Basically the surgeon broke the cartilage in my ears and re-set it to create a bend that was missing, hence the sticking-out part. I also had an inch of muscle removed from my left eyelid at the same time to correct a lazy eye that I’d had since birth. For a week or two afterward, I looked like I’d had brain surgery because the doctor had to wrap my whole head in gauze to keep my new ear bends in place. Unless you looked at the scar tissue behind my ears, you’d never know.
4. I didn’t wear open-toed shoes from the time I was about 10 or 11 until well into my 20’s because all of my toes (except my pinky toes) are taller than my “big” toe. When I wear sandals, you almost can’t see my big toe at all.
5. I have 3 moles on my lower back that form a perfect isosceles triangle pointing down. I have another mole that is dead center on the back of my neck. If you were to connect them, it would make an arrow pointing to my butt.
6. I never paint my fingernails. Ever. Not even clear. I also keep them cut down to the point where only a fine line of the white shows. I like it that way, and it keeps people from noticing how tiny my nail-beds are. Particularly since my fingers are extraordinarily long.
So that’s it. Well, not it, but the six required of me.
Yeah, I know. I’m weird.
I tag Mike of The Greener Grass, Kelly of Not All Together, Karen of I Hear the Baby Birds, Johnny of The Devil is in the Details, Patricia of Casita de Pitatayo, and Rob of Rob’s Place.
Maybe I’ll find out I’m not as weird as I think I am.
Highly unlikely.

Really Cathy - you AREN’T that weird. I think this exercise proves we are more alike than different. I kind of feel the same wayu about the lighting in the room - I am kind of compulsive about random stuff like that! Thanks for “playing”
I’m glad I did! Thanks for tagging me, even though I acted like it was a chore. It wasn’t, BTW. It was fun!
LOL! Too funny about your moles! Only you would notice that!
Everyone is weird, when it comes down to it.
This made me laugh soooo much. First, it made me feel like I was back in junior high in the girl’s bathroom talking to some trusted friend about things we knew were odd about us (and would probably mean we would never have boyfriends.) One friend had a toe problem - she said she had hippo toes….I was sure I had old man’s hands - veiny with short fingers…(to show how silly girls are, I actually have had compliments on my hands since but….at that time - who would ever hold hands with me!)
The other thing that’s funny is, because I’ve never met you, all the descriptions of you are coming through your columns…Luckily, there are some cute pictures of you - otherwise, I would be getting a very strange, limited image…
[…] Catbird tagged me awhile back to come up with “6 Weird Things About Myself”. Okay, so it was almost a month ago that she tagged me! I really had to think about it. […]
I have done your bidding!
