Green Lights

Last night, on the way home from our date (thanks Beau and Jennifer for the freebie babysitting!), Paul told me about an amazing thing that happened the other day.
On the way to RTS (Reformed Theological Seminary), he did not miss a single green light on Alafaya Trail from our house to all the way to McCullough in Oviedo.
If you know this area, that is just plain INCREDIBLE! Isn’t it?
If you don’t know this area, all you need to know is that Alafaya Trail, from our house to McCullough, is a driver’s nightmare. It goes from 6 to 8 lanes (outbound and inbound lanes combined) and is dotted with traffic lights. It’s a mess.
It wasn’t even at a weird time, like 2:30am or something. It was 7:30am, when everyone heads to work at the many office parks between here and there. (Not to mention school traffic at UCF!)
He said it reminded him that he is loved by God.
I told him he should write a haiku to commemorate it.
Knowing that he won’t, I have decided to write one on his behalf. (And in honor of National Poetry Month)
Here goes…
Unchanging green lights
The path of many people
New hope for a man-Catbird

I’m very impressed with the haiku!!! Isn’t it neat the “little” things like those green lights that God does to remind us of His love for us.
Great verse! God so often provides us little treats we never asked for.
