It’s Never Enough
Last week I was both thrilled and astounded to see that I had 113 visitors to my blog. A record for me!
And then I took a two-day break.
Now I’m back to a puny 86 visitors yesterday, and 80 so far today. I’m irrationally disappointed.
Six months ago I’d have been beside myself to have 86 visitors in one week, much less one day.
It is becoming increasingly evident to me that it’s never enough. Whatever “it” is, it never has been, nor ever will be, enough.
I’m honestly, and shamefully, never satisfied.
So apparently it’s time to get down to brass tacks and face that lie again.
What lie?
The one that tells me that the reason for doing something is so that people will like me, and not because God has called me to it, or because He is growing my faith through it, or because He wants to show me my sin so that I’ll again be dependent on Him.
And be satisfied in Him alone.
Lord, may I truly find satisfaction in your ever-present Grace, your unconditional Love, and your never-ending Faithfulness to me. “It”’s not enough, but You are. Thanks be to God.

Amen, and amen.
“It’s never enough” with so many things. I long to truely just be satisfied with God and His gifts to me, and not always long for more.
With you there, girl! We get too use to what we have, then get more, then get use to that, then want more. It’s a crazy cycle!
Um, true, true, but know that my several hits a day don’t show up in sitemeter because I’m subscribed to you and reading through RSS.
You just never know. Keep walking. Jesus set his focus on twelve.
I know, I do the same thing! Sad, huh? Pride is everywhere!
The scary thing is that it is never too much either … but it sure is fun in the meantime. Okay, I’m too lazy to go put a comment on your blogging as ministry post, so here’s another thought. Your blog is a ministry. I enjoy it for the challenge thoughts, like it’s never enough; and for the fun of it. I hope God helps me find the beat along with Jane.
