Fun Facts from Site Meter

Apparently this post just will not die.

showerhead The reason I know this is because AT LEAST 10 visits a day come from people around the world who get to “The Catbird Seat” by typing in “peeing” on Google or another search engine. The resulting image is the image to the right (click to enlarge), which just makes me laugh. I often wonder what they imagine when their search results show this image. Do they think it’s pee?

Today’s random sampling of “peeing” searchers included person(s) from Fuengirola, Andalucia, Spain; Tylersport, Pennsylvania; and Hyde Park, Massachusetts.

I was a little disappointed because usually I have 3 or 4 “peeing” visitors from Germany.

Another common thing I find on my Site Meter: random visitors from the UK. Inevitably the search words are “funny people %2″ which links to this post. Maybe it’s because I use the word “funny” about 793 times in one post. Okay, that’s an exaggeration: 792.

As for the “%2″…what can I say? I have no idea.

I wonder if people in the UK are so desperate to find something funny in life that they go hunting for it on the Internet. I don’t know if that’s sad, or just plain resourceful.

Oh, and today I got a visitor from Changwat Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai, Thailand (that’s a mouthful!). His/her search words were, “lamp living.” I don’t know what they were looking for, but I bet they didn’t find it here. I can only guess that something got lost in the translation.

And the best “Fun Fact of the Day” from Site Meter is…(drumroll, please)

Someone found my blog by searching the words, “tessellation ho.

Based on this post, they may just have come to the right place…

  1. Interesting!! :)

  2. I found your site through a friend of a friend of a friend (I don’t even really remember now) but your peeing post and the links on it were one of my personal favorites. I’m an American living in Hungary and I passed it on to friends here so you are officially famous in yet one more country.

So, does that make you really proud or really want to limit the amount of personal information you put out there for the world to see? For myself I have established a 24 hour hold rule as I had just one too many posting/email “hangovers”. That’s when the next day the very thing that had seemed oh so clever and witty at midnight feels just a tad less amusing and a bit more horrifying.

I’m thinking of applying the 24 hour rule to other aspects of my life.

  3. Brenda, thanks for commenting and for the great word-of-mouth recommendation.
Strangely enough, it makes me really proud.
And as for the blogging “hangovers”, well, the truth behind that statement just makes me laugh.
    LOVE it!

  4. Once I posted about a pay phone. Later someone came to my blog looking for “how to rob a pay phone”.

    Sigh.

  5. What in the world?!!? This freaks me out!!

  6. The funny thing is that every time you write about, or refer back to, that post on peeing you just increase your rankings within Google for those search terms. :)
