I want to be known. I really do.
Not just known, though.
Understood. And loved.
I think I just want people to “get” me. I’d love to have them love me as well, but I’d settle for “knowing” or “understanding” most any day of the week.
In fact, that desire might be the single biggest driver behind many […]

It is a little-known fact that one of the best gifts you can give a mother, particularly a mother of small children, is time alone.
MFL (Lindsey) understands this about mothers. And she must’ve been listening very closely when Paul has described how tired and sick and sick of being sick and tired I’ve been lately.
MFL […]

When I went to my counseling appointment today at Northland Counseling Center (RTS Orlando), I noticed a sign on a door near the elevator.
Written in white capital letters on a huge red square were these words:
MAIN DISCONNECT INSIDE
Yep. That about sums it right up.

She took Jane to bounce
While I felt queasy at home
Friendship is her “thing”
MFN (Nancy) offered to take Jane to Sliderz (a bounce house) today so that I could stay at home and recuperate from the (still) ongoing diarrhea and vomiting that has plagued me for 2 weeks now. I took her up on it.
This is […]

What’s the difference between 6:30am and 7:00am?
30 minutes?
Nope. At least not to me.
The difference between 6:30 and 7 is…
…the equivalent of 2 hours of sleep
…the time Elizabeth woke up today and the time she should wake up
…one irritated mama.
I think when God made children, he should have hard-wired them to wake up only after 7:00am. […]

Apparently, mine doesn’t.
Because I am arrogant, I fully expected to ace this quiz. This is what I got instead:
Your English Skills:
Grammar: 100%
Spelling: 80%
Punctuation: 60%
Vocabulary: 40%
Does Your English Cut the Mustard?
80% SPELLING?! What the HECK!
60% Punctuation? I guess I need to read “Eats, Shoots, and Leaves” again.
40% Vocabulary? I’m gonna chalk that one up […]

WARNING: TMI ahead! This post may gross you out!
However helpful it is in diagnostic medicine, the stool sample may in fact, be the grossest medical lab test that was ever invented.
I now know this from personal experience.
From the collection process (don’t ask!) to the tubes filled with toxic liquid material (even before you add the […]

…who’s the fairest of them all?”
“It’s not you, silly girl, so why are you asking?!”
I don’t have a Magic Mirror, but if I did, I think that’s what he’d have said while I was getting ready for church yesterday.
Ever had one of those mornings?
You know, the kind where your hair just won’t do right, you […]

To blogging, that is.
MFS (Stef) is one of the moms I met at our Monday park date. Her blog is aptly called, “Finding Time.” Much like MFR (Rinnie), her blog is primarily about her kids and family. Stef is a very caring, thoughtful mother of 2; she’s also very unassuming and humble (I think!). In […]

The noun giardia has one meaning:

How is it that plain Gatorade can go in one end as about 12 ounces and come […]
