A Rare Moment
Last night I got the Final Jeopardy question right…though none of the actual contestants did.
The category was “Religious History.” MFA (Amy) and I just groaned.
During the commercial break, we blurted out possible questions to the upcoming answer.
“Pope John Paul the …uh…well…”
“Martin Luther!”
“John Calvin!”
“Calvin Klein!” Amy replied, to which I said, “Wait, that’s not RELIGIOUS history! That’s FASHION history!” and she rebutted, “Fashion is my religion.”
Hysterical. But I digress…
Watching with MFA and MFJ (Amy and Jason), the answer came up: In 1549 this book unified the liturgical service into a common language…”
Or something like that.
I yelled out, “The Book of Common Prayer!”
J and A looked at me like I was nuts.
All three contestants answered “The King James Bible.”
All of them were wrong.
I was right. (hee-hee.)
When Jas and Amy looked surprised, I stuck my fist up in a show of defiant victory and said proudly, “My sister is Episcopalian!” and then emphatically, “And those folks know liturgy, let me tell you.”
So, in a rare moment, I “won” Final Jeopardy.
It’s a little unfair, though.
I had insider information.

Very impressive! I love Jeopardy and do all right on the regular questions but I NEVER get the final one. I wouldn’t bet a penny on it.
I knew it too! All those years of school are finally paying off.
Yay for you! I was very impressed. I was sure it was Calvin Klein. Oh well. I guess I can’t be right all the time…
