Snick It Up!

Mike and SullyIt seems that we may have watched “Monsters, Inc.” one time too many these days.

Consider this dialogue, which takes place in the Monster’s locker room. Mike is preparing to take the lovely Celia out on a date:

Mike: (smelling armpit) Whew. Hey, can I
borrow your odorant?

Sully: “Yeah. I got uh…smelly garbage or old dumpster.”

Mike: “You got low tide?”

Sully: “No.”

Mike: “How about wet dog?”

Sully: “Yep. Stink it up.”

This is a fairly unimportant part of the movie, really. Just some funny, filler dialogue.

If it’s unimportant, then why did you just point it out? you might be wondering.

The other day I asked Jane to bring me the box of wipes.

She comes running in the room, wipes in hand, and tosses me the box while simultaneously saying,

“Snick it up!”

In my confusion over what she said, I missed the toss. “What?”, I said.

Jane runs over to me, picks up the wipes box, backs up to her original position, tosses me the box again and says casually, “Snick it up!”

See what I mean?

Too much “Monsters, Inc.” I think.

But I laughed anyway. And then I laughed some more.

And now anytime anyone in this house casually throws an object to another person for any reason, one of us (Paul, Jane or me) says,

“Snick it up!”

  1. I love that movie and somehow I think it’s a really good sign she is taking their material (and making it her own…)

  2. this reminds me of when Morgan was choking on something at dinner and when she got herself able to talk she said “that went down the wrong isle” at least yours came from a movie. Not sure where she got that but in our house “pipe” is now “isle”
