I seem to be getting this question a lot lately, and although some of you IRL friends will get the full story, I thought I’d blog about it anyway.
The short answer is, “We don’t know.”
We thought there might be a good chance we’d move to the Montgomery, Alabama area, which was part of our visit […]

Stink after 3 days.
Let me tell you that it’s SO true.
What’s weird is when you are the ones who stink.
I oughta know. By the time we pulled out of the driveway at 281 Kenner Creek Road, we had a 4-day stench that carried us almost all the way to Orlando.
Trust me on this.
Or you […]

…two to go.
Closets. And cleaning/organizing them.
In an effort to get the house ready to sell, and to get ready for a garage sale that we’re having next Saturday, I cleaned out Jane’s closet today.
The excessive toys are an embarrassment.
Why do we have 20 stuffed animals? In a black trash bag? Untouched for months?
Sadly, […]

Do not EVER, I mean, NO NEVER, put off a pit-stop that involves a foul smell emanating from the diaper region of your 19-month-old sitting quietly in her car seat.
OTHERWISE, you might find yourself at a Chevron station between Tallahassee and Lake City that has no paper towels, hand sanitizer, baby wipes OR SOAP by […]

Lately I’ve been listening to the soundtrack to “Elizabethtown” in the van.
Like, every chance I get.
Without a doubt, “Long Ride Home” by Patty Griffith is my favorite.
Here’s the chorus:
I’ve had some time to think about it.
And watch the sun sink like a stone.
I’ve had some time to think about you
on the long ride home.
It […]

After significant car trouble and a 4-day trip to Alabama that turned into 7 (good grief!), we are finally home at last!
Needless to say, I have lots and lots and lots to blog about this week.
Most of it will require name/gender/identity altering to protect the (ahem!) innocent, but I’m gonna give it a go anyway. […]

I’ve always thought that Day-After-Thanksgiving shoppers were insane.
My plans for today include a 10-hour minivan trip home with a three-year-old, and 18-month old, and a week’s worth of emotional baggage from visiting relatives.
Suddenly shopping today doesn’t sound insane. I think it might be preferable.

We are visiting Paul’s family in Montgomery, AL for Thanksgiving this year.
I am very excited.
Why? Because I get to go to Sweet Home Alabama.
Here are 10 great things about Alabama:
1. If you go to a restaurant and ask for “sweet tea”, they’ll know what it is…and have it.
2. You can have a vacation in the […]

Here are the numbers:
6 adults
8 kids
1 house
4 bedrooms
2 1/2 bathrooms
1 living room
8 dining room chairs
2 barstools
1 highchair for
2 toddlers
Maybe we’re crazy, but this is the likely situation in which we’re voluntarily putting ourselves in order to see family for Thanksgiving.
Over-crowded? You be the judge. (We won’t have enough personal space to have a thought!)

I finally figured out what is keeping me up until midnight lo these many nights.
A Coke at 8pm.
Here’s the equation:
12 oz. can of Coca-Cola classic + loss of intelligence and reason=1 wide-awake 35-year-SAHM
And all this time I thought it was the naps! (wink)
