Where Are You Moving To?

I seem to be getting this question a lot lately, and although some of you IRL friends will get the full story, I thought I’d blog about it anyway.

The short answer is, “We don’t know.”

We thought there might be a good chance we’d move to the Montgomery, Alabama area, which was part of our visit to the fam.

After our week-long visit there, we’ve come to a couple of conclusions.

1. We still miss Alabama, and hope to live there again someday.
2. We love our extended family, and enjoy visiting them.
3. We, the Paul Martin family, need space to be the Paul Martin family. (and I’m not talking about square footage here, you know?!)

So. We probably will not be moving to Deatsville (where Paul’s parents live), Millbrook, Prattville or Montgomery, unless something radical changes or God calls us to a church there.

We will be moving, though, due to the work situation, so unless Paul gets a job elsewhere, our best chance is Birmingham, AL.

Here’s why:
1. I have a license to practice pharmacy in Alabama.
2. I have family there.
3. I have work connections there.
4. There are probably more work opportunities for Paul there, both ministry-related and non-ministry-related.
5. We’ve lived there as “The Paul Martin family” fairly successfully several years ago, and loved it. (no kids at the time, of course, but we were well into our marriage.)

So that’s the long answer.

We’re praying for peace, clarity, and direction, and in the meantime, we’re just livin’ La Vida Loca here in sunny Florida.

  1. You know, there are lots of houses for sale in the little town of Butler, Pennsylvania. I think I can hear them calling your name! love -Suz-

  2. I completely agree with Suz!! I’ll start looking for you! (^_^)

  3. Cathy,

I would just like to humbly point out that you also have a license to practice pharmacy in Tennessee.
