Understanding Sovereignty

A very dear, very new friend recently gave me a profound thought that I just can’t shake.

Probably because it hits very, very close to home.

In describing her husband, she said (and I quote) “[He] needed for God to show him once and for all that trusting God means trusting God; not using God as a safety net when all of his plans had played out.

It seems that my life is an exercise in that very thing right now.

Apparently, I need for God to show me once and for all that trusting God means trusting God; not using God as a safety net when all of my plans have played out.

Maybe we all need that.

Scary, though, to actually try and live that statement, isn’t it?
