Early Riser
Something has happened to me.
I”ve become an early riser.
Without fail, I’ve awakened at or before 6am every day since we moved to Birmingham.
And at least half of the time (maybe more), I’ve actually gotten up out of bed and done something!
Made coffee.
Answered an email or two.
Blogged.
Created art.
What on Earth. Who is this person I’ve become?!
I kinda like it.
It’s quiet. I’m alone with my thoughts. No one is calling for me. No one is whining or crying.
Amazingly, I was even able to finish a whole cup of hot coffee without even once re-heating it in the microwave; a true feat for a SAHM!
I feel a little like that old adage, “Early to bed, early to rise; makes a man heathy and wealthy and wise.”
Except I’m not healthy or wealthy, and sometimes I’m not very wise.
Maybe if I’d just get to bed early at night…

Very interesting! As you’ve been getting up early, I’ve been getting up later and later. My usual wake up time for the past month or so is right around 8 am. Can you believe that? My young body needs its 9 hours of sleep!
Man, I miss you! I’m doing a Beth Moore Bible study this semester because you inspired me by how much you learned (as I’ve seen through blog posts). I love it.
