A New Look

The Catbird Seat is currently undergoing some new aesthetic changes, per its developer’s decision (Paul). He felt it was high time to change.

I’m inclined to agree.

It’s still a work in progress, but I’d love to get your feedback.

So far, my only real complaint is the “Search” bar in the middle of my header. I don’t like it. Neither does Paul.

I think it makes the header look junky.

Hopefully that will be “fixed” soon.

Other than that, I mostly like the rest, though I have to admit, it’s kind of like getting a new haircut: it takes some getting used to.

Especially since I’ve had the old haircut (Wordpress template, old version) for over a year. Hard to believe I kept something the same for so long, huh?

So, leave a comment with your constructive criticism.

Really.

We want to know what you like/don’t like.

It won’t hurt my feelings one bit. I promise.

(Paul, on the other hand, might take it personally. Just kidding.)

  1. I jumped the gun, and commented yesterday :)
I, too, changed the look of my blog after only a few days. My son wrote,”seriously.mom.the website’s pink.can’t look at pink website at work. change the color.”
    he’s direct, that one. . .

  2. I just updated my blog this weekend, too. It’s so exciting!

I mostly like your new look. I agree the ’search’ field should be relocated. I’m not a huge fan of not being able to see all of the most current posts without having to open them all up individually. But that may just be me.

I like the tag line in the header, though. Very cool.

  3. Funny that you said Paul formated it because yesterday when I saw it I thought, this looks more like Paul’s syle than Cathy’s. I’ll get used to it. Just like a new haircut or a different seat in church!

  4. Oh, I forgot to add that I have missed the blog links you had on the side because that’s how I got to Kelly’s, Amy’s, Paul’s, Rinnie’s, Pam’s….etc. Now I have to find out their real blog address!

  5. I, too, miss the blogroll. I also don’t like how we can’t see all the most recently posted posts, but I could get used to it.

The look of your blog had become so familiar to me that I have to confess, I feel lost when I look at this new one! But again, I know I’ll get used to it. :)

  6. It looks good to me, after all the changes. The only thing I see right now, is maybe a little more padding or margin on the pictures. The words are right up against the right-hand frame.

    Good job!
