The Note

I found this note in my lunchbox yesterday.
I have never felt so appreciated in my life. It makes me want to cry.
And, because of that wonderful, loving note of gratitude from Paul, I felt like my work that day was an honor.
A privilege that I’d been given: a chance to help the family I love. A way to ease the financial burden on us.
Not, as I have been feeling lately, a burden itself.
If you have a spouse that goes to work for pay, consider imitating Paul’s gracious action in some way. But don’t just say it, for Pete’s sake! Write your heart down. On PAPER. And then GIVE IT to your working spouse.
They’ll love you for it.
Trust me on this.

I’m glad you can feel like it’s more of a blessing than burden - maybe I’ll stick a note in Erik’s shirt pocket or something. And good to remember the priviledge part when caring for kids all day sometimes (and some days often) feels like a burden!!
That’s so great! Paul’s a sweet heart!
That is so thoughtful and simple. Maybe I need to do that for someone!
Nice to read your voice again.
I want someone to love me like Paul loves you and your family.
That is very thoughtful…and I hope I find a guy like that someday!!!
You guys have no idea how much I miss you. I have tried to call you a couple times and I have also tried to email you. Did you get them? I know that ya’ll (believe it or not, it has become part of my vocabulary!) are insanely busy, but I would LOVE to catch up at some point before we get to heaven! I have a couple of women who are mentoring me now, but it just makes me miss you and Paul all the more! drop me a line…andrigia@gmail.com
Love you!!!!!
I tried to type this earlier- but kept getting sidetracked! Go figure with 4 kids! Anyway, I think I’ve said this before, but you are both so blessed to have each other. You seem like such a great person, maybe I’ll get to meet you one day! And, I know what a wonderful guy Paul has always been (well, except for 7th grade,he was pretty much an obnoxious snot, but I’ll try not to hold that against him!)
PS
I unpacked my book last week and started reading it (I got it in the middle of packing up the house and the box was put in storage… ) This is a better time for it- got the selling and buying and gallbladder surgery behind me now and feel like I’ve started fresh- so the themes (fresh brewed coffee!) hit me where I need it now! Thank you!
