Not Just Any Job…

…but a GREAT job.

That’s what Paul now has.

And though I’ve been grieving in anticipation of losing him back to ministry, I have to say I’m really excited for him as he returns to the work he loves.

A few details: (that demonstrate how faithful God is)

It’s in Birmingham.

The pay is fair and enough.

The church is vibrant and growing, but still small enough for personal discipleship youth ministry to work.

The priest (no, not Catholic. Anglican.) seems to be just exactly what Paul needs and wants in a boss/mentor/leader.

Because of the nature of the congregants and the church’s location (Mountain Brook), financial resources for any particular need of the youth ministry will likely not be a problem.

The job starts the first of June, so I can quit my full-time work schedule right away and get back to the work I love. (mothering my kids!)

Did I mention it’s in Birmingham?

So we can stay here near our families, minister to the hurting and growing students at St. Peter’s, and get back to the roles to which we feel called. God is good.

A few friends have asked if I’m “thrilled”…well, honestly, not yet.

I’m scared; which is exactly how I roll with this level of change in my life—even when it’s good.

But God is dealing with the fears of my heart, and walking Paul and me through this wonderful and scary time with the grace that is part of His holy character.

And until that time when I realize how great Paul’s new job is, not only for him but for me and us, I am just relieved and grateful for God’s latest installment in the provision for our life.

As MFC (Christy) said in a recent email, “Yay God!”
