About Me

Name: Cathy Martin (”catbird” see “What is a catbird and why am I in his seat?”)
Age: 36
Spouse: Paul Martin
Children: Jane Catherine (age ) and Elizabeth Anne (2)
Occupation: part-time pharmacist, part-time stay-at-home mother (and sometimes I pretend to be an artist!)
Home is: Birmingham, Alabama
Purpose of this Blog:
I want people to be encouraged and delighted and refreshed and humored and moved and even challenged by my ongoing life experiences. The good and the bad ones. The funny and the not-so-funny ones. All of them.
I hope to share my struggles and victories in the faith (and in life) in a real and transparent way so that others that feel alone in those same struggles and victories will realize that they’re not. Alone, that is.
Tidbits:
I have a big chip on my shoulder for people who think that stay-at-home moms are intellectually inferior to people in the workplace or students of educational institutions.
I am now the proud owner of a minivan; I’ve given up my “cool” Isuzu Trooper and surrendered to the “practical” Honda Odyssey in which I am thriving despite my earlier resistance. (see Minivan ME?)

So, baby sister, call us or let us know how to contact you!
Hi Cathy,
I am contacting you regarding a blog survey I am conducting. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Mass Communication at Penn State and my dissertation project consists of a survey that looks at women bloggers’ perceived motivations for and effects of their blogging.
I am sending the survey to a number of bloggers, and I would like to invite you to participate in it as well. Participation should take approximately 15 minutes of your time. I would appreciate it tremendously if you would be willing to take the survey. If you decide to do so, please follow the link below:

I would be very happy to share the findings of my study with you once it is completed!
If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Thank you in advance,
Carmen
okay i’m officially stalking you.
time at your house last night was so fun and so great! Thank you for being real, me and Kristen talked the whole way home about how cool yall are and how excited we are about hanging out with you. We may look like we’re adult-ish, and we may even have adult-ish jobs, but don’t be decieved, we’re really just young 20 somethings looking to be adopted into families! Just ask John and Kristen!
Also, and most importantly, you are in serious trouble with me because I have spent way too much time today on etsy.com looking at art and such. It’s not 11:18 and I’ve gotten about ummm……30 minutes of work done today.
Have a great week!
Oh my goodness. I don’t even know where to begin. I want to say that I have been reading through diffrent stuff on here and have had a good laugh. I am now a stay at home mom of 3 boys. I passed my nursing boards in October last year and found out I was pregnant in November. I worked for Irene Stacey for 7 months and have been at home since. And let me just say that some days I feel as though I could be a mental health patient. It is now snowing here in PA and I was going through coat pockets so I could wash them and found your web site address that Cheryl gave me when I was in the medicine shoppe one day. I hope to get in contact with you so we can talk on the phone and exchange email so I can send you pictures of my husband and family. There is six of us now, I have a step daughter that is 12. Let me just say I am so thankful the good Lord gave me boys.
Please email me so we can exchange phone numbers.
