This one is short but sweet.
A customer came through the drive-thru at the pharmacy in which I worked last night (the location of which I will not disclose due to privacy concerns), and requested prescriptions to be picked up.
After watching the tech ring up all three prescriptions, and give her the total, she decided that […]

Something about me and the Walgreens drive-thru. I don’t know what it is.
Because of the recurrence of interesting things happening in the Walgreens drive-thru when I work, I thought I would just start a new series.
To read the first [recorded] interesting story, which from here forward will be referred to as “Walgreens Drive-Thru Story #1″ […]

FROG.
Not a hard word, really.
But for Elizabeth, who is phonetically-challenged, “frog” sounds a whole lot like the more notorious “F” word…you know the one.
How did I come to discover this knowledge?
Well, some time ago, Paul bought the girls plastic frogs and turtles to play with in the bath. There are all different kinds of both […]

Tonight I finished working on a nursery commission for MFL (Lindsey)…well actually, for a gift for Lindsey’s expectant cousin (didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea because of my awful syntax.)
ANYWAY…I used spray adhesive for the wings of the dragonfly.
Spray adhesive and me. Not friends.
The wings stuck to the paper that I put underneath […]

…but a GREAT job.
That’s what Paul now has.
And though I’ve been grieving in anticipation of losing him back to ministry, I have to say I’m really excited for him as he returns to the work he loves.
A few details: (that demonstrate how faithful God is)
It’s in Birmingham.
The pay is fair and enough.
The church is vibrant […]

It’s my weekend to work.
I really hate working the weekend. I generally don’t complain about it (oh, that is SO a lie) because it’s just part of the deal of being a retail pharmacist.
Seriously, though I dislike working weekends and nights, I don’t try to get out of it, and I don’t whine to anyone […]

I visited my own blog (here) today and was shocked to see that the last post was on April 22nd.
APRIL. 22ND.
Three weeks ago. THREE WEEKS!
Holy Moses! Where’d the time go?!
Then I spent the last half-hour re-reading my past posts back to 2 weeks before we moved to Birmingham for the sole purpose of determining how […]

“Lifelong” friends are great
Short term friends have their place, too
Both needed for a rich life.
I haven’t spoken to MFR at all since we moved to Birmingham in January. Which, for Ru and I, is like an eternity.
And God knows it wasn’t for her lack of trying.
So last night, she finally caught up to me at […]

“It only takes a spark to get a fire going ( [echo] going)…”
So 70’s Jesus-movement Protestant church-y. So cheesy.
Yet, so apropos.
Today, I got a forwarded “Questionnaire” from my high school best friend and soulmate, Allison.
I have to say, I love these things. I love reading the forwarder’s answers and I love considering my own […]

I am just about to walk out the door to go to work.
The 2-10pm shift. At the store that draws problems and crazy people like a light attracts bugs.
And tomorrow (Easter Sunday), I work 8am-4pm.
It’s the first time in 7 years that I will have to work on Easter Sunday.
(Sigh.)
It’s made me think about Easter […]
